چکیده

A 3D numerical modelling workflow was applied to the Barremian—Aptian source rock interval in a shelfal lower slope area of northern Orange Basin, offshore western South Africa. The main objective investigate timing hydrocarbon generation and migration. Hydrocarbon migration has previously been investigated south basin by relating gas escape features with structural elements as seen on seismic sections, but pathways are still poorly understood. study based data from three exploration wells (AO-1, AE-1 AF-1) together 42 2D sections totalling 3537 km length, cube covering an 750 sq. km. Fuzzy consequence modelling of hydrocarbon offshore pipeline

The traditional event tree analysis uses a single probability to represent each top event. However, it is unrealistic to evaluate the occurrence of each event by using a crisp value without considering the inherent uncertainty and imprecision a state has. The fuzzy set theory is universally applied to deal with this kind of phenomena. The main purpose of this study is to construct an easy metho...

Late Barremian-Early Aptian Ammonites from the Tirgan Formation, Kopet-Dagh Sedimentary Basin, NE Iran

During the recent field research on the Tirgan Formation in the west of Kopet-Dagh sedimentary basin, ammonite assemblages were obtained from the carbonate strata of this formation. This new finding is important for stratigraphical purpose. In this research, 3 genera belong to Heteroceras, Deshayesites and Cheloniceras? as well as one uncertain genus belongs to Turkmeniceras are determined. The...

Veins, Fluid Migration and Hydrocarbon Generation in the Utica Shale, Northern Appalachian Basin, New York

The Upper Ordovician Utica Formation of the Appalachian Basin is a potential target for natural gas development. This black shale outcrops throughout the Mohawk Valley in Central New York State. The lower Flat Creek Member is characterized by E-W Mode 2 (strike-slip) fractures, bedparallel thrusts, and N-S Mode 1 (tensile) fractures. E-W fractures and dilational jogs host the majority of calcit...

Palaeoenvironment and Its Control on the Formation of Miocene Marine Source Rocks in the Qiongdongnan Basin, Northern South China Sea

The main factors of the developmental environment of marine source rocks in continental margin basins have their specificality. This realization, in return, has led to the recognition that the developmental environment and pattern of marine source rocks, especially for the source rocks in continental margin basins, are still controversial or poorly understood. Through the analysis of the trace ...
